Selection of Raw Materials in Cosmetic Manufacturing
It is important for us to ensure that our raw materials are pure and of high quality for use in cosmetics. We carefully select our ingredients, emphasizing transparency in the manufacturer’s production process. We want to know how and in what kind of environment the raw material has been produced. Certifications are also a requirement, and we verify them before purchasing any raw materials. This way, we can guarantee that all the cosmetic products we manufacture contain the best ingredients, ensuring a high-quality product for the end user. We always require safety assessments and complete safety data sheets from our raw material suppliers to ensure the purity and safety of the ingredients.
Product Development Process
Product development can sometimes be a time-consuming and labor-intensive process. From the initial product idea, we move on to testing and experimenting with different formulations. Often, during this phase, the original idea may be adjusted or enhanced. This makes the product development process dynamic, allowing it to evolve throughout the development stages. Once the product reaches the final stages of development and the ingredients are selected, it moves on to safety testing. In addition to purity studies, various tests are conducted on voluntary participants. This provides valuable initial insights into the product’s performance, characteristics, and any potential shortcomings or side effects. After the product has gone through the entire process, we summarize the safety-related findings, conduct a safety assessment, and complete the necessary registrations, after which the product is ready to be launched to the market.
Documentation and Product Sales
As part of our product development and manufacturing services, we also offer assistance with regulatory compliance. At Medbiolab, adherence to the EU Cosmetic Directive is integrated into the product development process right from the beginning. Through us, you can also order product safety tests and a safety assessment. In addition, your product can be registered in the EU's Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP). If specific claims or labels are desired for the product, we assist customers in obtaining these. Products developed and manufactured by Medbiolab are made domestically, making them eligible to apply for the Key Flag Symbol, a mark of Finnish origin. Although some raw materials and packaging are imported from the EU, the product meets the requirements for the Key Flag Symbol (with a minimum of 80% domestic production). We also assist companies in applying for the Key Flag Symbol.
